Chat:Kipe Ya Yo is okay as an album. But there are just too many albums these days that are merely okay (Werra, Koffi, Zaiko, Defao).

Werrason!!!

Chat: What it does do though is to confirm the suspicion that many of us had when Anti-Terro was released - JB's voice, the beauty and technical control, are not faring too well as he matures. Too much booze and too many late nights in smoky environments? Or just deteriorating vocal chords?

even his latest album and in Bongolowayi Primus??? I think we will always go round circles. And what has become of Koffi and Werrason??? How are their voices??

They're okay, merely okay like JB.

Werrason never had much of a voice anyway so he can be excused mediocrity.

You have brought this topic were it is now. So when u compare JB and Werra,, what is your criteria,, voices oh what??. The mistake we make is to compare their band albums which is a complete contribution of all band members. And if you compare from the time these guys went solo,, up to today,, tell us who is doing better interms of continous release of tangible albums. Lets exclude the Maxi singles/beer promos coz here JB is definately doing better.

I'm not comparing them to each other musically. They have both declined in quality as far as I am concerned. However Werrason is clearly more popular than JB, if only because he is more prolific, and because for the past few years Maison Mere is still more stable than BCBG.

You talk about your mistake in comparing "band" albums: I don't think you are making a mistake at all. If an album is released under the banner WMMM or BCBG then it is the responsibility of the respective band leader to ensure the album's quality matches his requirement.

Wantanabe,
Have you saved them to your hard drive yet? Lucky you. you have a full album now, plus a good 5 minutes of the video clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4GTeAfUkmI). I'm sure you are frantically looking around now...... or patiently waiting for someone to upload the last half of the video so that idawatu can "reintroduce" it to the public under the seka moke production label.

........... Am I allowed to be very disappointed when my better half is preparing for his coming here?

2 posts and we now have to start wasting time reading about better halves. What has Kipe ya yo got to do with your better half? Were you planning to burn your "downloaded album" and give him? Stick to your biased opinions gathered from low quality uploads and keep your better half stories to yourself.

Tamando

Yesterday before Heri posted all the clips we had already discovered that not all links work so you can' listen to the whole album.

I wait with my terrible verdict until I have heard the whole cd a couple of times over the stereo set full blast.

That would mean wantanabe is making all that noise without listenning to many of the songs.

They were even asking if i have the whole album but they were dissapointed. So poeple are looking forward for Kipe.

I don't think it is that bad, but yes, it is a little disappointing.

Dicapremo, some albums indeed need time to get appreciated...

Is that the MacDonalds logo emblazoned across JB's portly posterior? Looks like he needs to get some serious dietry advice.

The only one who has declined and has an unstable band is Werrason.Apart from Ali Mbonda and Flam Kapaya, who in Wenge MM was with the band from it's begining?JB has been with about the same team from the time he formed his team, talk of Ficarre,Kibens,Chai,Rio,Alba,Sunda Bass,Calluji etc,it's still the same team apart from a few goners like Alain Makaba,Mpela,Mukena and Blaise Bula,we cannot talk about the dancers coz they all act like prostitutes, jumping from one band to the other and back again, just like Fasso does,am sure soon he'll be back in BCBG though i hear he's now a staunch church goer.
Werrason releases albums like buns from the bakery but they fade away within a few weeks.
JB entertains the masses in Congo even though he releases albums every 2 to 3 years,he is simply the people's choice.
