Modogo Abarambwa is soon to release his first solo cd called Envie, it will be released by a company called Yane which is based in Paris, before recording Modogo was given permission by Koffi Olomide.

Now as he is one of my favourite singers my expectations are very high and I hope he can live up to them.

one of the songs was also played for the first time on top congo radio this weekend. He is a great singer but I am (or will be) very dissapointed because it doesn't seem he will be utilizing the deep voice he used on Fally's Prince of Southfork

And the generique.

It took at least three resolute listenings for my ears to make sense of it and connect the notes into an orderly flow. Since then, it has been irresistibly danceable. But I fear I might not be in the majority.
Regardless, very danceable and different.

The album sounds good but this generique would have been explosive had Modogo used a better atalulu and not added that distorted solo(rock mode) at the end of the song, long gone are the days that this distortion was liked,i believe it's Japonaise Maldi playing solo in that Genrique as i heard someone say Japonaise Kyoto,he also played with distortion at the end of Sens Interdit of Ferre.

I prefer when he sings like he has in this new album, this is the way he sung during his peak in the old QL days but when he rejoined QL after a stint abroad,he started singing like Koffi just like Jordan Kusa also did.You can also hear him sound like Koffi when he is doing the 'mabanga' in the songs above.

115th listening, and I am totally addicted. Imagine the late James Brown dancing Koyimbiko, that's what I feel like doing right now.

This is not your typical loud and noisy generique with the atalakus and guitars competing for attention. Rather, the subtle tempo kept simmering in my body until every square inch started vibrating, especially after I was able to put all the notes/parts together. Japonais and Simolo at the drums worked well together to create that irresistible rythm (I dunno how they did it). As to the atalaku, I like the beginning and end of the distortion part. They blend in quite well.
This is certainly not the best generique of the year, but I haven't reacted so enthousiastically to any other. Absolutely luscious!

Japonaise is really doing well in the jobs he's doing with the many artists he's playing for but i have never been a fun of distortion so it will always be crap to me irrespective of who is playing the solo guitar.

When you talk about noise from ataluku's don't you realise that Apocalypse is the noisiest of them all,he made noise in Fally's Droit Chemin and has done the same in Modogo's album though this time around he has been a little bit creative.

He's not MY Dede Djasco... you're right Dede is one of the singers on Modogo's new album Envie... just like Serge Mabiala and Junior Kingombe... Apocalypse is the animateur... apart from solo guitarist Japonnais the formation of the band on Envie is almost the same like the musicians on Fally's Droit Chemin, so Titina Al Capone, Michel Bass, Fofo Le Collegien, Ramazani etc.

I could tell it was Titina on drums though lawal also mentioned Simolo who i have heard being mentioned in Tabou Fataki's generique.

It becomes boring when the same people appear in almost every album on the market.

If people like Ferre asked me for advice on who i recommmend to work with them in their album,i would say Patou Solo,Flam,Luxembourg and Bombole on solo guitar then Alba,Ficarre,Fofo and Olivier Tshimanga on rhythm,Michel and Sounda on Bass,Tche Tche de Balle and Seguin on drums,Cellulaire and Brigade as the only atalukus,Thierry Synthe and Cedric Guezula of BCBG on keyboards/synthe then Boguis,Mpela brothers,Doudou Copa,Erick Menthe and Abram(from JB's PPU) and finally Adjani and Jitrois from Wenge MM.This would be an album i would want JP Kys to be engineer assisted by Pathy Moleso

That's probably why these people decided to stay in Europe and work as session musicians... it would guarantee them work and they would save the artists a lot of costs since most of them are Paris based...

You're stealing my Bombole... coz when I was wild about him you said you were not impressed...

That's a long list you just mentioned, I'm glad you will offer Moleso a good job as well...
